Mary-Ann leads our Intellectual Property section, as well as working in other specialised areas within our Commercial Services team.
Mary-Ann's principal focus is on intellectual property and related commercial advisory and contracting services, including formulating IPR protection, management and commercialisation strategies for clients, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements dealing with IPR issues and providing associated legal counsel services.
Mary-Ann is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and various other professional associations as well as serving in a voluntary capacity on the Boards of several education, community and other not-for-profit organisations.
Rod is an accredited business law specialist with 12 years experience as a commercial lawyer. Rod provides sound, client-focused legal services to a variety of commercial clients including ASX listed companies, Australian subsidiaries of international companies and small to medium sized Australian businesses.
Rod's practice involves preparing or reviewing and advising on a variety of contracts including sale of business agreements, terms of trade and construction agreements, advising on trade practices issues and commercial leasing.
Rod is also the vice president of his children's school council.
From 1980 to 2010 Malcolm led our Business Law and Commercial Contracts sections, as well as working in other specialised areas within our Commercial Services team.
Malcolm was pivotal in establishing our culture and delivery of pragmatic in-house legal counsel services to commercial entities of all sizes. He is no longer practicing as a lawyer but will be pleased to ensure that his clients and referrals are seamlessly transitioned to one of the other members of the White Cleland team.
Malcolm is a non-practitioner Director of the firm and has an ongoing role in practice administration and external directorships, including of our associated C&I Projects Pty Ltd. The latter involves him in providing strategic business advisory services on a global basis, including through C&I Projects offices in Canada and India.
He also continues to serve in a voluntary capacity on the Boards of education, community and other not-for-profit organisations.
